I hope everyone had a great weekend! We are home after a fantastic trip to Cape Cod with my family to celebrate my Grandma’s 85th birthday. It was great to see everyone and especially fun to have a makeup show and tell party with the women of my family (which unfortunately for Jar, consists of 90%) during the stormy days. Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Colour #104 Passion Lipstick: Such an amazing red lipstick that somehow managed to flatter almost all of us, has definitely just been added to my wish list!

Happy Fashion Friday!

Sorry for the hiatus this week, I’ve been enjoying time with my family up in Provincetown, Cape Cod for my Grandma’s 85th birthday. We’ve been sharing a lot of love, laughs, and liquor (or in my case virgin Bloody Marys). Side note, if anyone is planning on coming to P-Town this Summer, I highly recommend checking out Scottcakes…amazing cupcakes that come with a fab attitude!

Since I could probably live in maxi dresses right now (with the growing temperature and growing belly) I’m on the hunt for new ones constantly and I wanted to share this Hive & Honey Double Layer Knit one that I just can’t get enough of; so much so that I bought it in two different color schemes. It’s so comfortable, colorful, and cheap (well, not overly pricey but I was going for alliteration there), highly recommend!

Cosmetic Case of the Mondays

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I had such a great weekend celebrating two of my closest friends; one who got engaged (yay!!) and one who had her baby shower for her expecting twins (double yay!!). I couldn’t be happier for you guys! And the happiness continues as we’re gearing up to see my family tomorrow in Cape Cod to celebrate my grandma’s 84th birthday, woop woop!

So I’m probably the only idiot who actually gets excited when my makeup and beauty products run out as it forces me to shop around for a new one! Well, I had finished my face primer so the quest for a new one began! Fear not though, I always have samples and backups on hand, in this case being L’Oreal’s Magic Lumi Primer which I actually REALLY like for a drugstore cheapy! Why even get a different one and not just stick with the L’Oreal you ask? Short answer because I’m cray cray. Moving on, I started looking on Sephora to see if there were any new primers out there or if I should repurchase a past favorite of mine, I have always really liked Stila’s One Step Correct as well as Hourglass’s Veil Mineral Primer SPF 15 and would definitely buy them each again in a heartbeat.

Benefit Primer

Suddenly I see that Benefit just came out with a new primer and I was too intrigued not to buy (damn you Benefit and you’re catchy packaging and marketing), the Stay Flawless 15-Hour Primer. It hasn’t even hit all stores yet (my Boca store has yet to receive any) and yet it already has amazing reviews! The primer claims to act like a magnet to lock on your foundation for up to 15 fresh and flawless hours. The stick can glide directly on to skin or you can use your fingers to apply and then either use fingers or blush to blend in. A consumer-panel showed the following impressive results:

-94% said it helped foundation last longer

-97% saw an improvement in the look of skin/complexion

-94% said it increased foundation coverage

-97% said it enhanced foundation’s performance

And you wonder how I could pass this puppy up?! Well, I tried it for myself this weekend and I have to say I loooved it!! The primer itself felt so light on my skin and it did wonders to my makeup! It truly did last all day long and still looked perfectly intact when I washed it off at night. It is a definite must try in my opinion!

Martha Celebrations

You may have heard that JC Penney is trying to revamp themselves, again. Well part of their strategy is to bring in popular, luxury brands for affordable prices as many other retailers have been doing recently. One of the designers that they have teamed up with is Martha Stewart and I’m obsessed with the Martha Celebrations entertainment line now available. It’s now easy to throw a shin-dig that’s beyond “pin-worthy” for any occasion, with gorgeous details that you would never think to find in inexpensive party decor. And I absolutely love that you can shop by category, occasion, and even color! It almost makes you want to think of excuses to throw your next party. I just learned that June 29th is Waffle Iron Day, if that isn’t a good enough reason to have a bash I don’t know what is! Who’s in?!

Bite Beauty

Hi everyone!

I’m always on the hunt for a new beauty brand to fall in love with and I think I’ve found my new prey, Bite Beauty. Exclusive to Sephora, Bite is beauty for lips that’s good enough to eat as the hydrating formulas are infused with food-grade ingredients. The colors are highly pigmented and come in gorgeous eye catching shades.

What I’m currently loving:

Lush Fruit Lip Gloss in Garnet (a vibrant coral pink) – A highly pigmented lip gloss featuring healthy fruit ingredients that are delicisous enough to eat. What you see in the container is exactly what you’ll see on your lips and I’m OBSESSED with this color! Note: This gloss is a little more sticky than I would normally prefer, but it definitely wasn’t a deal breaker and the color stayed on foreverrrr.

So I’m a huge fan of MAC’s Studio Fix Fluid Foundation as I blogged about back in March, although I know people complain how difficult the bottle can be to get the actual makeup to pour out. Would you just die if I told you that you can stop smacking the bottle upside down for 15 minutes and purchase a pump for it?!
