Humpday Helper

So it’s been over a week since I announced Jared and I are expecting and I promised myself I wouldn’t start just blogging about the woes of pregnancy (although I could write for days about my stretch mark phobia and my ever growing (naturally an ‘outie’) belly button) and so far so good!  I keep reminding myself that no matter how big I get, makeup always fits!  But that’s not to say that I’m not already changing my everyday habits, I’m now shopping for maternity clothes, Jared and I spend time dying laughing over the baby name websites (we learned last night that we will not be naming our child Iago Moskowitz), and I am now hooked to two new blogs: Mommy Shorts and 9to5chic.  I may not be informing any of you about these blogs as they are widely known, but they’re new for this momma-to-be!

mothers day

Mommy Shorts features the life of mom of two, Ilana Rosengarten, and she is absolutely hysterical.  Like I could pee a little when reading some of her posts.  My sister was the one who informed me of the blog as she’s been obsessed for quite a while and even before I became pregnant I would crack up from the posts that she would forward to me.  Ilana makes me so excited to become a mom and for the life I’m about to lead, although she’s also reassuring as she has no problem admitting how rough it can be.  Reality is comforting to me for some odd reason.  I highly recommend this blog to anyone, even the gals out there who couldn’t be farther from motherhood.  We all were kids once so if nothing else we can relate to how bratty we probably were to our moms from time to time.  I know I was one hell of a smart ass!  And I’ve only heard terror stories of Jared when he was little.  I’m worried we’ve registered for a lifetime case of Karma without even realizing it…

9to5

Let me start by saying 9to5chic is by no means a parenting or pregnancy blog, it’s a fashion blog/diary by Anh, a Marketing Manager in San Fran.  She has ridiculous style, is beautiful, and has a wardrobe to die for.  Annoying, right?  Yea, I think so too.  Well I had not been a follower until just recently when one of my best friend’s Alexis informed me that Anh is preggers and would be a good maternity fashion icon for myself, and that she is!  While I find it amusing that she actually dresses up so much for work, she looks flawless, plus I love that she and I share an infatuation with Celine.  But once again, don’t be discouraged if a pregnant style doesn’t pertain to you, Anh is still rocking amazing bags, shoes, and some non-maternity dresses (or links to the non-maternity version), and I even just purchased a new amazing lipstick per her suggestion, Estee Lauder Pink Riot.  I dare you to try it and not love it!

Happy Reading!

Xo,

Leah
