The Birthday Party Project

The Birthday Party Project

So in life, we know “good eggs” and we unfortunately know “bad eggs”. I met one of the best eggs I know, my friend Pamela, back when I was 9 years old, in the 4th grade and we’ve been best friends ever since. Well today is Pam’s birthday (Happy Birthday Pamel!!) and when I asked her what she wanted for her birthday she insisted on no gifts. I of course told her to shutup because obviously I’m not not getting her a gift. Then she said fine, if I wanted to get her something than she would like me to donate to The Birthday Party Project. Good egg, people. And yet I didn’t even know what this organization was.

After learning about the organization, I felt compelled to share. The Birthday Party Project’s mission is to bring joy to homeless children through the magic of birthdays. In 2015 they will host 180 birthday parties across the country where children enjoy activities and crafts, games, decorations, cupcakes, and party favors. Overall they have celebrated over 1,350 birthdays with 11,500 kids in attendance. How amazing is that?!

Want to share the fun of your own birthday party? You can start your own fundraiser with your #shareyourbirthday program! You can either create your own personalized website that would allow you to set a fundraising goal and promote via email and social media, or ask guests at your birthday party to bring presents for The Birthday Party Project in addition or instead of gifts for your guest of honor and can contact the organization to schedule a location to drop off or mail presents. Let’s all be good eggs and help children in need celebrate their big day and let’s all wish Pamela a very happy birthday and a big thank you for introducing us to The Birthday Party Project!

Xo,
Leah
