July Magazine Article: Additional Beauty “Must Haves”

Check out my new magazine article for the Lifestyle Media Group South Florida magazines, while I continue to attempt to grasp the fact that June’s already over…

July column

I know how easy it is to get into a beauty routine and to not think out of the (cosmetic) box.  I get it.  Sure you have your foundation, blush, and mascara that the woman at the makeup counter helped you pick out years ago.  You’ve found what works and are sticking with it.  Who has time to start trying out new products and colors?  Well, sometimes you need to pause and hit refresh (sometimes even restart!) and try something new!  Revisit the woman at the makeup counter (who may or may not have already retired) and clean out your bathroom drawers.  To help you out I’ve put together a shopping list of additional beauty “must haves”.

Glam Glow Supermud Clearing Treatment, $69: Clear up all your skin woes from breakouts to razor bumps with this super mud.  Who knew mud could be so glam?

Nails Inc. Kensington Caviar Gel Effect Plumping Top Coat, $11: Love the look of gel nail polish but don’t love what it does to your nails?  Try this plumping top coat to give any regular polish a gel look.

Jo Malone Vitamin E Body Treatment Scrub, $90: Treat yourself to this scrub and your skin will never feel so soft!  Extra bonus, the Vitamin E is combined with salt for a youthful glow.

It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Spray, $15-20:  No matter your hair type this is truly a wonder product with its 10 features, simplifying multiple products into just one.  It does everything shy of styling it for you!

Revlon Translucent Finishing Powder, $10-12:  The perfect powder to set your makeup for a flawless look that will last!  Tip: I like to apply it by patting it with a puffer over my foundation, then applying face powder, and then patting a little more on top to finish.

MAC Prep + Prime Highlighter, $25:  This highlighter is great as it also primes your skin.  I love using this underneath my concealer to avoid creasing, as well as on top of makeup as a brightener for a quick pick-me-up!

Sigma Beauty Makeup Brushes, www.sigmabeauty.com: Try out these hand-crafted brushes and you’ll never want to use another brush on your face again, trust me!  If the brushes weren’t enough, use their Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Glove ($35) to deep clean your brushes and then the Dry’N Shape ($32) to remove all the water and not lose the original shape.  Genius!

Stay tuned for next month’s article!

Xo,

Leah
