Fashion Friday

So we’re finally realizing it’s Winter here in South Florida as temps are dropping…brr.  For us folk who are used to getting chilly when the temp hits the low 70s, we really flip our shit when it drops below 50 degrees.  Like enough to bust out the rock salt, not that we would know what to do with it, much less have reason for it, but just know that’s what they see in the movies when preparing for a blizzard.  In honor of the frigid weather, here’s are some items that would really heat things up.

bailey bow navy

Normally I have a love/hate relationship with Fuggs, I mean Uggs.  Probably because I just hate what 81% of women pair them with.  I’m pretty sure these new Bailey Bow boots bring the relationship strictly over to the “love” side.  How cute?  Digging them in Navy.

creme da la creme

alex wang

If having to keep your hands in your coat pockets to stay warm, keep your satchels at home as this is THE shoulder bag to wear.  Forever obsessed with Alexander Wang’s Rocco Duffel.  Available with Gold (pictured), Rose Gold, Black, or Silver hardware.  Swoon.

I love this adorable Project Social T ‘Creme de la Creme’ sweater that I actually just purchased from Nords the other day.  I’ve already cut the tags and wore yesterday and it was oh so comfy.

headband

How adorable of an ear warmer?  Use as a regular headband when the weather warms back up!

lip mask

I’m itching to try Bite’s new Agave Lip Mask.  It’s a leave-on lip mask that replenishes moisture in lips, the perfect solution to dry lips from the cold.

Things I’m Loving…As well as not loving.

As I return to the blogging world after taking some time to hang with my favorite little man, I’m realizing that there are so many things I’ve missed being able to share with you all.  Here is a random collection of things I’ve been loving that you should love too, if you aren’t already.

heritage-hill-glass-jars-with-lids

Crate and Barrel Glass Jars: I bought three of the different sizes of these glass jars and am loving using them on my kitchen counter where I’ve filled them with my favorite sweets.  Who says you can’t decorate with gummy bears and Sour Patch Kids?

I’m obsessed with watching both this Sprint commercial and SNL’s “Twin Bed” music video skit.  I could watch them both on repeat all day long and can now do so with my new ultra cool tote from West Elm.  Totes ma goats!!

givenchy

Givenchy Noir Couture 4 in 1 Mascara: I had forgotten how much I love this mascara as it had been a while since I’ve used this and yea, I love it and you will too.  It just requires wiping excess mascara off the wand, but it provides such drama!

The Fresh Market Pillow Brownie Cookies: I actually just tried these for the first time last night and they’re so good that they made this list.  Go try them stat!

green skinnies

Baby Gap Forest Green Skinny Jeans: I bought these adorable jeans, along with this shirt and I’m left confused whether they’re for Samuel, my 13 week old son, or Jared, my 33 year old husband.  Dying.

Always being the realist (ok, somewhat of a pessimist) there have also been things I’ve loathed.  Below is the quick list of items I can’t stand and am hoping they fade out fast!

Selfies.  The word alone makes me cringe.  I would prefer if the term didn’t even exist and would much rather just say “a picture someone takes of themselves”…but would still hate the actual act.  And for those of you who are saying, “Well Leah you post photos of your baby and I hate looking at baby photos.”  If you hate looking at baby photos you are soulless and thus I wouldn’t be offended if you unfollowed me.

Miley Cyrus’s tongue.  Seriously, it’s enough.

Sorry I’m Not Sorry.  Sorry that I hate it when people say it and even more so when they hashtag it.  And while we’re at it, I don’t care if your hair is long or short, so mazel tov if you don’t care either.

Ok, I’m done.  Especially since I’ve probably offended a bunch of folks.  Oops!  Best part is I should never be taken seriously.

Xo,

Leah

Cosmetic Case of the Mondays

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!  I was able to get away and celebrate one of my very best friend’s upcoming weddings at her bridal shower and bachelorette party in Islamorada!  It was great to spend time with my best friends, who I’ve known since I was a little girl, while we reminisced, soaked up the sun, drank, and laughed until we cried (and possibly peed a little…).

I absolutely love having mini excursions with my friends especially when we get ready together for a night out (even if it is five of us sharing one bathroom) and get to rummage through each other’s makeup bags.  It’s a great way to try out new products and looks.  Here were a couple of our collective faves:

naked3

Naked3

So it’s no secret by now that I’m obsessed with Urban Decay’s Naked and Naked2 eyeshadow palettes and the new third palette recently came out while I was on my mini-hiatus.  It’s a gorgeous array of rose-hued neutrals, seriously beautiful shades.  I consider these some of the best go-to gifts and this new one is no exception!  We loved playing with these colors after just gifting it to one of the girls for her birthday.

cerave

CeraVe Facial Moisturizer

This drug store facial moisturizer (for normal to dry skin) was great for quenching my dry skin!  It’s light so it didn’t feel gross while lathering it on and since it’s beyond reasonable you don’t feel like you need to ration how much you allow yourself to use.

fuschia

Givenchy 205 Fuchsia Irresistible Le Rouge Lipstick

I know I’ve gabbed about this lipstick before, but I seriously can’t get enough of it.  I think it’s such a great pop of color to any outfit and it goes on oh so smoothly!  And the leather case makes it beyond luxe.  Even if you think the bright color isn’t for you, try it out for shits and gigs and even if you’re not completely digging it for yourself, hopefully you’ll love one of the other colors as the Le Rouge lipsticks are amaze!  Did I mention I love this lipstick?!

Cheers to a great week!

Hello My Name is Leah, Have We Met?

Holy 2014!  I hope everyone had an amazing New Years!  I’m sure by now you’ve been thinking does this girl even wear makeup anymore?  Does she even care about fashion now that she only lives in Gap Fit every single day as if she has a daily uniform like Doug Funny?  Does she even know how to turn on her computer? (The files are in the computer?!)  Well the answers are as follows: sometimes, yes, and yes…or you haven’t at all thought about the lack of Live Love Lipstick in your life.  But I’m baaaack!

So even though I owe you a Cosmetic Case of the Mondays today to discuss all of the fabulous cosmetics I’ve currently been loving as well as coveting, however today is a BIG day.  After months of cheering on my beloved Florida State Seminoles, they will be playing in the Rose Bowl tonight for the National Championship title, woop woop!  As much as I wish I was in Pasadena for the big game, mom duty calls and I’ll instead be glued to the TV with my little Nole by my side.  In honor of Winston and the other FSU players, here are my fav “Garnet and Gold” items right now…

Cosmetic Case of the Mondays

Hello Hello!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  We were a little under the weather in the Moskowitz household, but managed to still cheer on yet another huge FSU win and celebrate my best friend’s birthday!  And I even managed to put on some makeup!  (Says the girl with the beauty and makeup blog…)

What makeup did I put on for this monumental occasion you ask?  Here are a couple of the new goodies I tested out…

kat von d

Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation: I had mixed feelings when I ordered this foundation from Sephora; I had read great reviews of it offering ridiculous coverage, but was almost nervous that it would be too much reading it could even cover a tat.  Yowza, that’s a serious claim!  Plus I kind of felt like I was betraying Sandra Bullock by finally purchasing something from Kat’s line.  Well I’m happy to say that I really enjoyed the foundation!  It definitely does provide full coverage but without the thick and cakey feel I was nervous about.  (Little tip: I blended it with Sephora Collection Pro Airbrush #55 to create a smooth and flawless look.) I went with the color Medium 54 and I’m happy I did!  Sorry Sandy…

MAC Sheen Supreme Candy Apple Lipstick: I love MAC’s Sheen Supreme lipsticks because they give off amazing color with the feel of a moisturizing balm as well as the shine of a glass and this is my new fav color, I’m obsessed!

Cheers to a great week!

Playing Catch-Up

Hi everyone!

I’m sorry that I’ve been slacking on the posts, I’m definitely a crazy person lately still adjusting to being a mom (and yes, I’m fully aware that I sound like a broken record).  Today was actually supposed to be my due date and yet I’m bringing Samuel to the pediatrician as he is one month old today.  Crazy four weeks to say the least.

So what have I been up to?  A whole lot of falling in love with my mini-Jared of a son.  A lot of getting ready for my day at 2pm.  Realizing that a breast feeding class is now my week’s social gathering.  Cheering on my Seminoles, woop woop!  Eating lots of Halloween candy.  Looking in the mirror and complaining to Jared that if I don’t escape the house to get my brows done that Samuel is going to grow up thinking that I’m Burt.  Finally having a glass of wine.  Had our first big night out sans baby to see Michael Buble in concert (fun fact: it was my third time seeing him perform).  Online shopping.  Going to sleep finally and realizing that I never actually checked out and purchased my online items.  So what are the non-baby items I’ve our purchased?  Seeing as my maternity clothes must just really love me and don’t want to let me go, I’ve had to resort to my other love in life…makeup.  Here is one of the items that peaked my interest enough that I actually went back to my online cart and purchased:

ysl reds set

YSL Love and Lacquer Reds Set: For $58 ($74 value) you receive a full size Rouge Purr Couture Vern is À Lèvres Glossy Stain in 9 Rouge Laque and a full size La Laque Couture Nail Lacquer in 1 Rouge N Pop Art – Vibrant Red, which both look amaaaazing as well as a trial size Mascara Volume Effete Faux Coils Baby doll in Black which I LOVE.  Such a great mascara that provides so much drama, without the clumping.
