Cosmetic Case of the Mondays: Revlon Colorbust Lip Butter

“Her lips are like buttah!” – is what everyone will be saying about if you if you try Revlon’s new Colorburst Lip Butter!  These little gems are as moisturizing as lip balms but provide fabulous sheer to medium color and are available in TWENTY shades.  Supposedly 94% of women felt lips were softer, smoother, and instantly hydrated which couldn’t be better during the cold months.

I picked up two the other week at Walgreen’s while there was a Buy One, Get One 50% Off promotion in the shades Raspberry Pie and Red Velvet.  (I had actually suggested Red Velvet in the Dark Red Lips post a couple weeks ago via Papery & Cakery for more fair skin tones, but my friend Tara picked it up and she looked so good in it that I had to give it a try myself – plus I’m totally in need of a tan these days!)  Loving them both so much that I already had two of my friends run out and by some for themselves!

1. Nespresso Citiz: I bought one of these for Jared for his office at work and he absolutely loves that he’s able to make espressos whenever he wants, however if only it had an auto shut-off for when he’s had too many cups!

2. J.Crew Leather Card Holder: Perfect for him to stash cash, credit cards, and business cards and leave the George Costanza wallet at home.

3. Billy Jealousy Hydroplane Super-Slick Shave Cream: Men need their beauty products too and when they have a good shave cream that eliminates razor burn, we all win!  Jared just switched to this brand and he thinks it’s worth every penny.

4. Topman ‘Thumbs Up’ Cuff Links: Who has two thumbs and is both stylish AND fun?  Your guy!

5. Gap Blanket Striped Scarf: Help your man stay warm with this cozy striped scarf.  Available in blue stripes as well.

7. Gap The Beatles T: Buy him this soft vintage style Beatles T that will look great with a pair of dark jeans and converse.

8. Beats Wireless by Dr. Dre: There is a reason why Dr. Dre earned the most of any other musician in the world this past year ($110 million for those who were curious), and it’s all thanks to these amazing headphones!  Would be a great gift if he travels a lot to help cancel out noise on airplanes!

Your man will love you even more if you get him any of these goodies!  Kidding of course, but he may love them so much that he’ll want to up your gift!

Cosmetic Case of the Mondays: Cosmetic Gift Guide

Hello hello!

I hope everyone had an amazing weekend, I know I did!  I spent all day Saturday and Sunday playing blog nerd while attending the amazing Blogshop Photoshop/Blog seminar in Miami, along with Niki and Ali from Papery & Cakery.  The things we learned will blow the tops off your lipstick tubes!  I’ve done my hardest taking some of the skills I learned and applying them to today’s post, but as with anything in life, practice makes perfect so fingers crossed you guys will actually be able to see the results over time!

Anywho, all week I’m going to be presenting Live Love Lipstick’s Gift Guides for this holiday season and for our Cosmetic Case of the Mondays, today we will of course discuss the Cosmetic portion of the Gift Guide (obvi my fav!).  Here are the top 5 fab beauty sets/products that would make great gifts or should definitely be at the top of your own wish list!

1. Sephora Favorites Super Stars: This wonder box is filled with all of Sephora’s top selling products.  Despite it’s somewhat steep price compared to Sephora’s other boxed sets, it comes with five full-sized products so it truly is a great savings!  Some of my fav items included are the Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real Mascara,  Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer, Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Polish in Dolly, Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner, and seriously so much more!  Let’s just say there’s a reason it’s been sold out online for a while, but check your local Sephora!

2. Boscia Pink Peppermint Blotting Linens: A pack of 100 blotting tissues infused with peppermint for a great pick-me-up for your face.  The best part about these is you can remove unwanted oil without messing up your makeup!  Would be a great stocking stuffer or Secret Santa gift!

3. Urban Decay NAKED2 Eyeshadow Palette: I truly think this palette is one of the best makeup products that have come out in the past year, for reals.  If there is one eye shadow palette that you’re looking to buy for yourself or someone else, it should be this one!  Just ask my girlfriends, as I’ve been known to gift it for birthdays!

4. Sephora Collection Deco Daze Clutch Brush Set: This is one of the coolest gifts that Sephora came out with for the holidays, it’s a set of five brushes that are great for travel and best part they came in this GORG black and gold clutch (that so reminds me of the DVF clutches I’m obsessed with) that I have every intention of actually using as a clutch!

5. LORAC Eye Candy Full Face Collection: We know two things that I love: makeup and candy, so how could I not love this gift set from LORAC?  It comes with six palettes all deisnged to look like wrapped chocolate bars (which even come in a ridiculous cute box) and consist of four eye shadow palettes, one cream eye liner palette, and one cheek and lip tint palette.  They will definitely satisfy anyone’s beauty cravings!

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s next Gift Guide!

Fashion Friday: Shopping Attire

Happy Fashion Friday everyone!

Last week I blogged about the perfect outfit to wear for your Black Friday shopping, but I unfortunately had some technical difficulties and figure many of you were out anyways hitting up all the sales!  I wanted to re-post as all of the tips are great for any shopping day and are pretty similar to my go-to flying attire as well (I leave dressing in a dress and pumps while flying and walking through a million gates in an airport to Victoria Beckham).

Tips for the quintessential shopping outfit include the following:

Be comfortable!!  You don’t have to look frumpy to be comfy and you’ll be lucky you are when the woman who’s wearing her 5 inch heels or wedges wobbles by you thinking she looks hot.  I suggest wearing a pair of oh-so trendy loafers or the always great Toms.  And if you’re wanting a little glam, go with the uber fun Glitter Toms!

Gap Embroidered LoafersGap Patterned Printed Loafers. Toms Classic Canvas Slip-OnToms Classic Glitter Slip-On.

Take it off! Wear items that are easy to take on and off if you are planning on trying clothes on.  I usually avoid button down shirts and stick with leggings as opposed to jeans.  If you do opt for jeans, make sure they’re not tight and easy to wear, such as a boyfriend jean.

Forever 21 Ankle Length LeggingsGap 1969 Sexy Boyfriend Jeans.

Less is more.  I usually wear minimal jewelry this way if you do try on clothing whatever you have on won’t they won’t clash.  I just got this necklace from Piperlime and I love it!

Layers.  Despite the fact that I’m in South Florida and I could technically wear a tank and shorts if I was strictly dressing for the outside temp, I try to dress in layers because I’m always cold inside, especially inside our mall (it’s probably their way of forcing me to purchase a cashmere, but no – I’m one step ahead!).  I love getting super soft tees and cardis from Gap and Forever 21.

Forever 21 Basic V-Neck Tee.  Forever 21 Melange Open CardiganGap Pieced Dolman Tee. Forever 21 Green Basic Longline CardiganGap Button Cuff Crew TeeGap Shiny Dot Tee.

Easy access!  As much as I love a satchel, when it comes to a shopping day, I leave them at home and stick with either a cross-body or tote.  This allows you to be hands free and not go home with black and blue wrists from your satchel or handbag weighing you down.

Rebecca Minkoff MACKate Spade Flicker Bon Shopper Tote.

And yes, I of course also pair it all with all of my makeup essentials (obvi)!

Have an amazing weekend and let the holiday shopping continue!

Leah
