Sephora’s One-Day Wonders

I love Black Friday.  There, I said it.  But I love the Black Friday that I do, which is keep to normal shopping hours at my nearby mall, as opposed to camping outside of a Target for four days straight just to fight with a fellow shopper over a reduced priced colander.  Thanks, but no thanks.  I just love going to the mall on a weekday and having the holidays fill the air (I choose to ignore the pushy shoppers and long lines and concentrate on the good, like the fact that I’m not currently at work).  At my old job I’d have to work on Black Friday so I’ve grown to truly appreciate the shopping holiday and try to make the most of it.  With awesome retail deals of course.

 Some fun goodies I’m really excited about are Sephora’s One Day Wonders that they are only offering on Friday.  If you ‘Like’ them on Facebook, you get to preview all of the fun mini sets they are selling for just one day, all for just $10 each!  There are 15 sets advertised to choose from and they all look fab!  Whether you want to stock up on some stocking stuffers, or just some fun holiday gifts for friends or co-workers (or if you’re as guilty as me…yourself), they are sure to please!

They are keeping most of the specific details (colors, sizes, etc) of the One Day Wonders a secret, but the sets I’m most excited to snatch up are the following:

Best of Boscia Set: Always hear such great things about this line so I can’t wait to buy mini sizes of their Oil-Free Nightly Hydration, Luminizing Black Mask, and Purifying Cleaning Gel

Bare Escentuals Let It Glow Set: I don’t even know what product is included (too hard to tell from the pic), but I’m already wanting it…can we say sucker?

Ole Henriksen Three Little Wonders: They actually sell this kit regularly in larger sizes and it gets great reviews!  I guess now is the time to try the Truth Serum Collagen Booster, Invigorating Night Gel, and Sheer Transformation

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder & Traveling Kabuki Brush: I recently just discovered my love for this bronzer from the Sephora Favorites In The Glow Set (more on that later!) as it gives great color, it’s matte (which I love) AND it legit smells like chocolate.  Tempted to snatch a couple of these for the house, car, and office!  Am I crazy or a genius?  It’s all subjective…

Jack Black Comfort & Joy Shave & Lip Duo: Great set for the man in your life!  I know Jared loves this line so I will definitely be picking up one for him containing the mini Beard Lube Shave Gel (great for when he’s traveling so he doesn’t have to bring a large one with him) as well as the Intense Therapy Lip Balm in Natural Mint

Cosmetic Case of the Mondays: Inside Eyeliner

So here’s the inside scoop: I think a key piece to your makeup collection is a good “inside eyeliner”. Whether you’re using a pencil, liquid, cream, or shadow with brush for eyeliner, it’s always good to then go back and use a liner on the inside of the lid to fill in any gaps to give a complete look.  Bonus point: it also helps make your lashes look thicker!

My absolute fav inside eyeliner is MAC’s Technakohl Liner in Graphblack.  It is a mechanical pencil-style liner and goes on so smoothly!  It comes in TEN different shades so there’s sure to be something for everyone and for $15 it won’t break the bank!

If you want to try something for even less, give Maybelline’s Unstoppable Eyeliner which comes in four different color: Espresso, Sapphire, Pewter, and Onyx.  I prefer sticking with classic black, so I opt for Onyx. You can score this one typically for under $7!

Fashion Friday: Peter Pan Collar

We made it, it’s Friday! I’m so excited for the weekend I feel like I could fly! And if I was ready to take flight, what better way to do so than by rocking the trendy Peter Pan collar? (Was that a cheesy enough introduction into today’s post??)

I think the elaborate collars are too cute and put a magical touch to any outfit! But since we know the trend won’t be here for too long, I say don’t break the bank on completing the look. Think there are some affordable ones out there? Clap your hands if you believe! (Ok, I’ll try to stop with the Peter Pans puns…or else I’ll have to walk the plank, ok I’m done for reals now).

Humpday Helper: Nail Polish Remover Rounds

Happy Humpday!

So with nails still on the brain from yesterday’s post, I wanted to share the most amazing things that I recently discovered at CVS, Salon Rounds.  These amazing little disks are basically cotton balls with a handle so that when you need to fix a nail, the nail polish won’t leak through and ruin all of your other nails.  Can we say genius??  Seriously.  So much better than the old school containers with the creepy sponge soaked with nail polish remover, gross.

I unfortunately wasn’t able to find the Salon Rounds online, but definitely check out your local CVS to score a bag or I found similar rounds from the always amazing Amazon.

Need New Nail Trend!

So if there’s one thing I can’t stand (ha, we’ll pretend there’s just one) is the timing in between getting your nails done/doing them yourself and they are just bare.  I just took my polish off the other day still from my friend Jaime’s wedding (a great mix of Essie’s Angel Food and Ballet Slippers) but am waiting to redo them until closer to the weekend (to celebrate my BFF Pam’s Birthday, woop woop!).  Until then I have to stare down at boring, naked nails.  Ick.  The only good thing about this in-between awfulness is it gives me time to ponder what to put on my paws next (which those who are close to me know it’s both a blessing and a curse – how to decide?!).

Here are the nail trends I’m loving these days.  So the big q is which should I choose??  Help Fozzie and I decide!

Fall Colors

I’m loving the greens and wines we’ve been seeing so far this season.  Would love to try Ciate Superficial and I currently have OPI Malaga Wine on my toesies.  (Would be a great Garnet for my FSU Mani btw!)

Textured

I’m loving all of Ciate’s amazing textured looks!  I’ve been so tempted to try out the Velvet Manicure (the Blue Suede is my fav), Caviar Manicure (the black fo sho!), as well as the new Sequin Manicure (liking both the Black/Gold as well as Multi-Color!).  Need to finally choose one of these looks to test, they’re just too cool!

Glitter

How much am I loving all of the glitter?  I’m loving it a lot!  Whether sporting it on all 10 digits or just donning it on ring finger nails, I think the look is whimsical, yet fierce.  For rainbow glitter, Jordana Gemstones (just purchased!) and OPI Rainbow Connection (from the Muppet Collection!) are so fun!

I also love the dark and silver glitter looks, such as Nails Inc Special Effects 3D Sloane Square worn over black, Sephora by OPI Justa’ Pinch of Glitter, and this past weekend I bought Essie Luxeffects Set in Stones Topcoat which can be worn over any color to give it an edgy bedazzled look!

So I have until Thursday afternoon…which do I choose??
