January 2015 Magazine Article

It’s 2015! Happy New Year!! Can you believe it, another year has come and gone. It has been a great year for my family, watching Samuel grow into such a fun (and funny) little boy, we were able to see my out-of-state grandparents (aka the coolest people I know) many times, and celebrated many good times with friends and family! During 2014 I was also given the opportunity to begin writing for a South Florida magazines group, which has been an incredible experience! My sincere thanks to everyone for following and reading!

Sidenote: Can we talk about how sick this month’s cover looks with Miami Heat’s own Birdman? Love it!

BECCA Shimmering Skin Protector Pressed Limited Edition Champagne Gold Highlighter: Keep up your festive glow with this new illuminator for your face and body. Like the other colors in the line, this limited edition shade is like crushed gemstones in a compact on cheekbones, brow bones, inner corners of the eyes and even in the center of lips for a fuller pout. ($38, Ulta)

Dr. Brandt Skincare Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant: If you’ve been meaning to schedule a facial or microdermabrasion but haven’t had the time, you’re in luck with this unbelievable exfoliant by Dr. Brandt. Remember, your skin deserves a happy new year as well! ($78, Sephora)

Laura Mercier Body Butter: Starting your post-holiday diet but missing all the decadent desserts? These delicious body butters will cure any sweet tooth without the calories! My favorites are Crème Brulee and Almond Coconut! ($35; Laura Mercier and department stores)

Cheers to a fabulous year ahead!

Fashion Friday

Hello hello!

I hope everyone had a happy happy holiday! So I’ve been pretty M.I.A., more so than I even realized! December has been a busy month filled with Jared traveling, Bravo TV, and Samuel’s first trip to Disney, which was absolutely amazing! But I am kicking myself for taking too long of a hiatus especially since I had big plans for some gift guides, oops! Perhaps I’ll come out with a “What to buy yourself with your holiday money and returns” gift guide.  Stay tuned!

It’s crazy to think that New Years Eve is right around the corner.  Seriously, five days away, can you believe it? Time to solidify plans, get those nails painted, and figure out what to wear. NYE is always a fun night and good excuse to blow out your hair and wear something ultra fun, flirty, and flashy! Girls bust out their sequins and glitter like they’re off to Studio 54. Here are some of my top pics for the big night’s ensemble.

LACE SEQUIN MIDI PENCIL SKIRT

I fell is love with this Express Lace Sequin Crop Top and Midi Pencil Skirt since I saw Kate Upton wearing it in the brand’s promos. If only I looked like her in the outfit. Luckily you can now get it for 50% off, which I guess is a close second.

Leith 'Cut In' Tank Dress

Even though this Leith ‘Cut In’ Tank Dress is sans glitz, it’s a great blank canvas if you’re opting to wear some ridic heels or fab jewels. The cut looks so slimming and flattering! Again, at such a great price point!

ASOS Jumpsuit With Sequin Bodice

This outfit combines two of my faves: a jumpsuit and sequins. Andy Cohen, eat your heart out! To top it off it’s now $45!! Oh how I love a good ASOS steal! Heads up, it runs a little small…either that or I’ve indulged too much this holiday season. (Especially since making these insane Oreo Peppermint Crunch cookies, yum!)

Parker Gown - Lovey Strapless

Headed to a NYE wedding or black tie party? Loving this gorg sparkly Parker Lovey Strapless Gown! Now on sale!

Get to shopping and don’t forget to choose express delivery if need be!

December Magazine Article

So as crazy as it is, it’s actually December.  The year is coming to a close.  While you try your hardest to digest that, check out my new magazine article for the month!

December Screen shot for blog

December has arrived which means the holiday gatherings continue until the grand finale of New Years Eve.  Time to get you primped and pampered for all of your parties – as well as jump on your gift shopping list!

BareMinerals Collectors Edition Deluxe Size: If you’re currently a fan of bareMinerals foundation, then you’ll be ecstatic to hear that they have created one that is limited edition, beautifully packaged, and double the original size!  And if you’ve never tried it before, now’s the time to start! ($39.50; Sephora)

Jimmy Choo ‘Stars’ Perfume: This limited edition perfume is a remix of the original perfume (a favorite of mine), but with a bit more intensity.  It’s also packaged in luminous gold lacquer, making it the perfect new scent for the holidays! ($98; Nordstrom)

Sephora Favorites Superstars: Each year Sephora compiles a dozen of their most coveted items, in a mix of full and travel size, and offer them all at a low price, making it the perfect way to try new items as well as replenish your current favorites! I am such a huge fan of these sets but purchase fast as they sell out! ($75; Sephora)

Too Faced Beauty Wishes & Sweet Kisses: I love the gift sets you can score during the holiday season, they offer such amazing and cost efficient deals!  This collection includes three best-selling eye shadows, bronzer, highlighter, and a lip gloss to finish the look.  All for one low price! ($34; Sephora)

Gucci Audacious Color-Intense Lipstick: Gucci’s first cosmetic line is finally here, complete with gorgeous packaging of course! This lipstick is so rich that one sweep offers enough color and coverage!  I love the Iconic Red and nothing is better than a classic red lip for the holidays! ($39, Neiman Marcus)

Christian Louboutin Nail Polish: Treat yourself or someone special to the ultimate nail polish by the coveted shoe designer.  The polish is as luxe as the bottles (which almost doubles as a piece of art).  Try out the classic red shade, Rouge Louboutin ($50), or if you’d rather a dark mani for the winter, try out Loubi Under Red ($45) which offers a felt tip applicator to add the signature red sole underneath your nails. (Nordstrom)

Have a terrific month!

Cyber Monday

I hope everyone had a terrific Thanksgiving and weekend!  I had a great holiday with family, whipped up some delish desserts (if I do say so myself), brought Samuel to the zoo, and spent time with friends.  Oh, and I also watched FSU beat UF, woop woop!

So no fancy post here, just some of my favorite items that ridiculously on sale thanks to Cyber Monday!

My most favorite pointy toe pumps are 25% off today!  The Mira Heel by Madewell are so chic and surprisingly so comfy, so much so that I own them in two colors.  Loving the new Leopard ones!

I recently got the new T3 Featherweight Luxe 2i Hair Dryer and I’m seriously obsessed.  Seriously.  And now you can too because Folica is 30% off sitewide!  For someone who isn’t terrific at doing hair, I can see such a difference compared to my last dryer!

Humpday Helper

Are you tired of spending money on heels only for them to get ruined with scuff marks and scratches on the actual heel itself?  Well there is now the perfect solution: Just for Kiix Heel Protector!  These heel protectors are easy to apply and fit any size and most types of heels.  It’s more or less a clear sticker that covers the heel.  (One of those, why the hell didn’t I think of that?!)  They are available on their website (as well as tutorials on how they work as well as how to apply), or you can conveniently purchase them at Nordstroms!

*The top left picture may or may not be a dramatization.  Like why do your heels look like they were eaten by The Beast from The Sandlot?!

Smashbox Full Exposure Palette

So things have been a little hectic in our household.  After returning from visiting my grandparents up north last week, my husband and I have unfortunately been hit with the flu.  And as of today, Sam’s the latest victim.  Poor thing!  Let’s just say there’s been a lot of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse playing.

smashbox full exposure

I simply love a great eye shadow palette and Smashbox’s Full Exposure is no exception.  The brains at Smashbox figured out that before setting out to accomplish a certain look on your eyes, you must first determine the shape of your eye.  Just like you can admire a friend’s dress, you need to figure out if it would flatter your figure before copying the look.  They have created a beautiful palette made up of fourteen neutral shades, from nudes to blacks, to shimmers and mattes.  It also comes with a dual ended brush, sample size of Full Exposure Mascara, as well as an eye shape chart to accomplish your most gorgeous look.

eye shapes and names

smashboxpdp_shades_almond

The eye chart consists of six different eye shapes including Monolid, Upturned, Downturned, Hooded, Round, and Almond.  Not sure what eye shape best describes you?  Check out their video here.  Genius, I know.  Once you’ve determined your eye shape, you can then use the tips to help achieve your best look.

full exposure travel

Oh wait, don’t feel like dishing out the dough for a full palette or just don’t feel like you need that many new shadows (although can you ever truly have enough?), you can now purchase the Travel Palette which includes eight shadows for less than half the price.  Can we say perfect gift?  Yes we can.

Stylish Sneaks

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  For those of you who automatically receive my blog via email, my apologies for the sneak peak of this unfinished post you accidentally received on Friday.  For those of you who don’t receive my blog via email, subscribe today!

With the temperature “cooling down” in South Florida, I’m taking advantage of one of my favorite looks: sneakers.  As simple and stupid as it sounds, I love a good pair of sneaks.  Here are some of my favorite picks for look both chic and comfy:

nike black leather

Women’s Nike Blazer mid vantage sneakers in black leather: I am a proud owner of these and I was at first a little hesitant that they’d be a bit too ‘Jenny from the Block’ for me, but paired with some black leggings, I’m obsessed!!

metallic vans

Unisex Vans Classic Slip-On Sneakers in Metallic Silver Leather: Usually slip-ons are so effortless, that they give off a casual and carefree look, but with the metallic silver coloring these shoes are suddenly chic and edgy, while still easy.

574 grey teal

New Balance ’574′ Sneaker (Women) in Dark Grey: I have to admit I became obsessed with these sneaks as soon as I saw them on infamous blogger Sincerely Jules.  But don’t worry, I think they’ll look fab even without a Valentino flap bag.

nike grey suede

Women’s Nike Suede Blazer mid vantage sneakers: If you think it’s redundant showing you these in just another fabric nad color, think about how redundant they must look in my closet next to the black leather pair.  As much as they are similar, the look is so different, different enough for me to purchase them.  And I’m obvi obsessed with the pop of neon yellow.

Leah
