It’s back! It’s back!

Ok, big news folks, BIG!  You know how Sephora puts out the most amazing gift sets during the holiday season (even if the gifts are just for ourselves)?!  And you know how they always sell out because they’re just that awesome?  Well I was just doing my nightly browse on Sephora and I just saw that the Sephora gods have decided to grant us with a new Super Stars Beauty Essentials set!  I raved about this set when I purchased it back in December and I know many readers were disappointed as it quickly sold out.  It’s back and better than ever!

Super stars

The set literally includes some of my favorite products (some trial size, some full size) for a steal of just $75 ($179 value) and contains the following:

- Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder

- Sephora Collection Baked Eye Shadow Trio in Black Light

- NARS Blush in Orgasm

- Kate Somerville Exfolikate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment

- Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil

- Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer

- Benefit They’re Real! Mascara

- BUXOM Lip Polish in Sandy

- Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner

- Kat Von D Saint Eau de Parfum Rollerball

Soo what are you waiting for??

Humpday Helper

So it’s been over a week since I announced Jared and I are expecting and I promised myself I wouldn’t start just blogging about the woes of pregnancy (although I could write for days about my stretch mark phobia and my ever growing (naturally an ‘outie’) belly button) and so far so good!  I keep reminding myself that no matter how big I get, makeup always fits!  But that’s not to say that I’m not already changing my everyday habits, I’m now shopping for maternity clothes, Jared and I spend time dying laughing over the baby name websites (we learned last night that we will not be naming our child Iago Moskowitz), and I am now hooked to two new blogs: Mommy Shorts and 9to5chic.  I may not be informing any of you about these blogs as they are widely known, but they’re new for this momma-to-be!

mothers day

Mommy Shorts features the life of mom of two, Ilana Rosengarten, and she is absolutely hysterical.  Like I could pee a little when reading some of her posts.  My sister was the one who informed me of the blog as she’s been obsessed for quite a while and even before I became pregnant I would crack up from the posts that she would forward to me.  Ilana makes me so excited to become a mom and for the life I’m about to lead, although she’s also reassuring as she has no problem admitting how rough it can be.  Reality is comforting to me for some odd reason.  I highly recommend this blog to anyone, even the gals out there who couldn’t be farther from motherhood.  We all were kids once so if nothing else we can relate to how bratty we probably were to our moms from time to time.  I know I was one hell of a smart ass!  And I’ve only heard terror stories of Jared when he was little.  I’m worried we’ve registered for a lifetime case of Karma without even realizing it…

9to5

Let me start by saying 9to5chic is by no means a parenting or pregnancy blog, it’s a fashion blog/diary by Anh, a Marketing Manager in San Fran.  She has ridiculous style, is beautiful, and has a wardrobe to die for.  Annoying, right?  Yea, I think so too.  Well I had not been a follower until just recently when one of my best friend’s Alexis informed me that Anh is preggers and would be a good maternity fashion icon for myself, and that she is!  While I find it amusing that she actually dresses up so much for work, she looks flawless, plus I love that she and I share an infatuation with Celine.  But once again, don’t be discouraged if a pregnant style doesn’t pertain to you, Anh is still rocking amazing bags, shoes, and some non-maternity dresses (or links to the non-maternity version), and I even just purchased a new amazing lipstick per her suggestion, Estee Lauder Pink Riot.  I dare you to try it and not love it!

Happy Reading!

Cosmetic Case of the Mondays

I hope everyone had an amazing weekend, including a wonderful Mother’s Day celebration!

So I’m of course always on the hunt for the best new nail color and I’m so excited that Clinique has just launched a new line of polishes for sensitive skin.  The new collection consists of 12 gorgeous shades, as well as 7 additional Limited Edition – Summer 2013 colors, that help reduce the chances eyes will burn, itch, or water with contact.

Clinique Nail Polish

The shades that have caught my eye are Juiced Up (red-orange), Hi Sweetie (bright pink),  Red Red Red (well…you know), and Concrete Jungle (grey).

Faves

Which have caught your eye?

Fashion Friday: Gatsby Gear

Happy Friday everyone!

Well we did it!  It was a long week filled with work, NBA Playoffs, and last but not least baby announcements!  As I’m sure you know by now, The Great Gatsby comes out in theatres today and I couldn’t be more excited!  There are so many different eras I would have loved to have lived in for the clothing alone and the 20s are definitely on the list!  Here are some current items that can help you channel your inner Daisy Buchanan/Carry Mulligan:

Gatsby Gear

1. Kate Spade Great Gatsby Book Clutch: “Read” in style!  How cute?!

2. J.Crew Crystal Shapes Bracelet: Because J.Crew jewels never fail!

3. Dorothy Perkins Blush Drop Waist Dress: The drop waist is a must to accomplish this look and for $55 this dress is a must!

4. Cole Haan Tompkins Oxfords: When you want to channel your inner Gatsby!  (And how much do I love this Creamsicle color?)

5. J.Crew Crystal Shapes Earrings: As I said, does J.Crew ever disappoint with their jewelry?  Never.

6. J.Crew Crystal Compilation Necklace: Well you might as well complete the collection with this luxe looking necklace!  Gorg!

Enjoy the movie!  Enjoy the weekend!  Enjoy looking fab!

Pop of Pink!

As I’m sure you know by now, I love color.  The perfect pop of color can transform the simplest of outfits into the most chic ensembles.  I of course love doing this with makeup and lately I go for a lipstick and bring in a pop of pink!  I of course own way too many lipsticks in general, but I swear they each give off a different look.  My faves from MAC (so many colors to choose from and only $15 each!) are Lickable, Speak Louder, Candy Yum-Yum, and Speed Dial.   I can’t get enough, hence the awkward shape of my tubes.

Pops of Pink

My ultimate go-to color to is Lickable, as I’m seen wearing below.  These are clearly not the most flattering pics, but I really wanted to show how wearable these truly are!  Oh the sacrifices I make…

Lickable

Lickable Close-up

Even if you’re reading this and thinking you could never pull this off, you really should try it out!  You may totally surprise yourself, or perhaps go for a less intense color but still something to give you that pop!

Humpday Helper: Tune Time

Happy Humpday!

To help get me through the long work days, I turn to music that I listen to at my cube.  Whether it’s via iTunes or Pandora, I think of myself as the ultimate (and very eclectic) DJ.  Here is what I currently have on repeat that I strongly suggest to check out:

Tunes

Daft Punk feat. Pharrell – Get Lucky

Calvin Harris feat. Ellie Goulding - I Need Your Love

Muse – Panic Station

One Republic - If I Lose Myself (song from Ready for Love…is anyone else watching?  I like!)

Mumford and Sons – White Blank Page

The Mowgli’s – San Francisco

J.Cole feat. Miguel – Power Trip

Also stoked that the following albums recently came out:

Albums

Michael Buble – To Be Loved (If only I could be loved by Michael Buble…)

Fall Out Boy – Save Rock N Roll

Hopefully these help you rock out for the rest of the week!
