Spring Beauty Trends

NMBeauty

I was given the privilege of attending a Beauty Event at Neiman Marcus in Boca Raton a couple of weeks ago where I got to hear the inside scoop of the hottest beauty trends for this Spring! Maryann Petrides, the Beauty and Fragrance Selling Manager of the store, gave us a first hand preview of the new product launches for the upcoming season, as well as the must-haves in color, skincare, and fragrance. And now I’m here to share them with you!

NM Eddie Borgo tote

Beginning today through March 1st, Neimans is running their Beauty Event, which with purchases of $125+ you will receive an exclusive Eddie Borgo designed tote (available in three colors and makes the perfect lunch or beach bag) filled with beauty samples. Receive a matching wristlet for purchases of $500+. So now is the time to stock up your vanity with some of these amazing products:

la mer illuminating eye gel

La Mer Illuminating Eye Gel: This is THE eye gel to use and I’m dying to finally pull the trigger and treat myself to a bottle! This refreshing eye gel instantly lights up your eyes, making them look energized and awakened. It also helps fight early signs of aging, something that will be helpful for this almost-30-year-old.

La Prairie Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Dry Oil

La Prairie Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Dry Oil: This highly recommended oil can be used alone or mixed in with your regular moisturizer, up to twice a day on face and neck (important to not forget to take care of your neck!) after cleansing. Your skin will glow and look smooth as it moisturizes, nurtures, calms, soothes, and protects.

Armani Silk Foundation

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation: If you want to treat your skin for a night out with the perfect foundation, this is the one to use!  This award-winning foundation offers a silky, all-day buildable coverage, perfect for every skin tone! FYI, I use number 5.5 and it’s the perfect shade! Tip: Treat yourself to the ultimate brush as well with Kevyn Aucoin’s Foundation Brush, ooh la la!

tom ford bronzers

Tom Ford Beauty Bronzing Powder: The entire Tom Ford beauty line is exclusive to Neiman Marcus, including this gorg bronzer! Available in two colors, Terra and Gold Dust. Apply with a flat brush to contour and be sure to stay below the jawline so you don’t darken your eyes and look muddy.

diorshow brow styler

Diorshow Brow Styler: This wonder product is a universal color for everyone, yes, one color for everyone! With only one color available it will adjust to anyone’s brow color to fill in empty patches to define and shape your brows.

dior rosy glow

Dior Rosy Glow Blush: Similar to the brow styler, this is a universal shade perfect for everyone! While it may seem too bright for your taste, one swipe of this blush adjusts to your skin to create the look of a naturally flushed cheek. It is also buildable for you to create as subtle or as dramatic of a look that you would like.

Thanks again to Maryann and the amazing folks at Neiman Marcus! I can’t wait for Spring!

Cosmetic Case of the Mondays

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I was able to spend time with friends and Samuel, as Jared was off in Vegas for a bachelor party. I also stocked up on some adorable items for Sam from Baby Gap during their Biggest Little Kids & Baby sale (ends today!), especially loving this graphic tee, these jeans, and these adorable sneaks. Holy cute outfit!

Liners

So I also made a MAC run because I was antsy to check out their new ‘Penciled In’ lip liners, since they rarely put out new ones. My favorites were Edge to Edge, which is described by MAC as a dirty bluepink, and Nightingale, which is described as a midtonal cream plum. These liners are creamy, rich, and chockfull of pigment. They are perfect for not just lining your lips, but as they’re called, pencilling in your lips. This trick is perfect for helping your lipstick last longer!

The exciting part was also figuring out which lipsticks would look great with the liners and so far here’s what I’ve come up with, yet I’m sure I’ll end up playing around with other colors together in the future.

Loving Edge to Edge with Please Me.

Initially I knew Nightingale would be absolutely perfect with Rebel, but then I also realized it looks super fun with the new Viva Glam Miley Cyrus!

Which one if your favorite?

Cheers to a great week!

In Case You Missed It…

Hey, we’re all busy. So there are certainly things that you miss in life. I’m here to fill you in on the unnecessary items.

red velvet oreos

Red Velvet Oreos hit stores yesterday, but not for long. I unfortunately was unable to find them at my local Target yesterday so I can’t report yet on how they are. I can however inform you that Pop-Tarts jumped on the red velvet bandwagon and those limited edition toaster treats are delish!

t3-featherweight-luxe-2i-hair-dryer-416x416

The T3 Featherweight Luxe 2i Hair Dryer that I’m loving and raved about in my February magazine article is currently 25% off on Folica.com with promo code XOXO.

lip sync battle

The post Super Bowl lip sync battle on Jimmy Fallon was amazing. Will Ferrell dominates and Drew Barrymore was adorbs.

aesthetica from blog

If you completely suck and forgot to order yourself a AEsthetica Contour Kit even though you had the whole month of January to get it for 50% off you can order it TODAY and still receive 50% off with promo code LIVELOVELIPSTICK. But do it today! Like right now.

red power ranger

So an ex Power Ranger from the “Power Rangers Samurai” series was arrested for fatally stabbing his roommate with a sword. Umm, what?

COTTON CABLE SWEATER

So that damn groundhog saw its shadow and declared another six weeks of winter, which I know it doesn’t mean much for us in South Florida, but for everyone else I would take advantage of some fab winter clothes on sale.  Like this J.Crew Cotton Cable Sweater that’s currently 25% off with promo code GETCOZY.

You’re welcome!

February Magazine Article

Well we’ve finally cleaned up the last of the confetti from the NYE party and we may or may not still be sticking to our resolutions; February is here, the month of love, as well as my birthday!  Here are some items that I’m already loving in my new magazine article for the month:

February screen shot for blog

MAC Extended Play Lash Mascara: I know I suggest a new mascara almost every month, but I’m such a big believer in owning different ones for different looks, as well as mixing together.  This is an amazing mascara to use during the day as well as a second coat to other more dramatic formulas.  The ultra slim wand helps you reach all of your lashes and provide incredible definition and separation!  For an ultra black formula, try the Extended Play Gigablack Lash. ($17, MAC and department stores)

GlamGlow Supercleanse Daily Treatment Cleanser: With my birthday upon me (the big 3-0), I’m making sure to take care of my skin more than ever.  Since I’m already such a huge fan of the brand’s array of masks, I’m ecstatic to try their first ever cleanser.  It is a mud-to-foam formula which is gentle enough to use everyday, in between mask treatments. ($39, Sephora)

T3 Featherweight Luxe 2i: If you’re in the market for a new blow dryer, this should be at the top of your list!  For someone who isn’t great at doing their own hair, I’ve been using it for a couple months now and can see such a difference compared to my old dryer!  It promises to dry your hair 90% faster than conventional dryers, as well as reduce frizz while boosting your hair’s health, body, and shine.  I love the included brush as well! ($250; Sephora and Folica.com - which by the way is currently 25% off site wide including this dryer with promo code XOXO at checkout. 25% off people!!)

Butter London Lippy Moisture Matte Lipstick: These new lipsticks by the cult favorite nail polish’s brand are amazing!  They are rich, moisturizing, and offer great coverage!  They include specialized pigments that help provide long-lasting, non-drying color that doesn’t feather or bleed.  I especially love ‘Abbey Rose’, which is a full coverage rose-pink cream and great for everyday! ($22, Ulta and buttlerlondon.com)

Essie Limited Addiction Nail Polish:  If you’re been searching for the perfect red to wear this Valentine’s Day, look no further!  The shade is a darker red so it’s not too bright for the winter.  Show your nails some love with this beautiful polish! ($5-9, Ulta and drug stores)

Happy February!

R.I.P. Piperlime

In case you haven’t heard the news, Piperlime will be closing by the end of February, tear. The online fashion site, owned by Gap, was launched in 2006 and despite its best efforts is unfortunately only bringing in 1% of Gap’s revenue so the company plans to close the website as well as the brick-and-mortar locations. I will surely miss the free shipping and free returns as well as the editor recommendations (now how is Olivia Palermo going to help pick out my clothes??). I’m hoping for some incredible deals until the site closes, but here are a couple of items that are currently on sale that I’m loving!

Heads up: Look out for many “final sale” items and make sure you love love them before purchasing!

Cosmetic Case of the Mondays

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend (and previous week, oops!). We had a great low key, and yet still eventful weekend which was perfect since we’re still recovering from my sister-in-law’s amazinggggg wedding the weekend before. We all had a great time, including Samuel who served as Groomsbaby.

Samuel

So whenever I have a big event, I like to look back on some of the products I used and decide which ones I ended up liking because as well as know, sometimes the product that looked good in your bathroom mirror doesn’t look good hours later in the evening or in photos even minutes after applying. Here are my top picks from the wedding weekend:

asos dress

nars 2

Red lipstick: I wore this red dress for the rehearsal dinner (which I absolutely loved and want to purchase in other colors) and decided to pair it with a matching red lipstick. When matching a lip to an outfit, especially red, it has to be pretty spot-on. I purchased quite a few lipsticks so I could color match at home (call me crazy, whatever), but ended up wearing NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl which I already owned, allowing me to return the others. The lip pencil ended up being a perfect match and I was relieved that it wasn’t overly bold matching my lips to the dress. As always, be sure to use a lip primer before applying your lipstick!

chocolate soleil

Bronzer: I went ahead and got a spray tan prior to the weekend (as I was a lovely olive skin paste that really brought out the jaundice I had when I was born), but I of course felt it necessary to still use a little bronzer. I chose to go with one of my favorites, Too Faced Chocolate Soleil. I love how this bronzer is matte so I can apply it allover, and then use a highlighter where I want a glow. And yes, I of course love the smell of it.

paper lantern

Lip gloss: I had my makeup done for the wedding but wanted a lip gloss to use throughout the night for touch-ups so I went through my collection while I was packing and brought some of my favorite MAC glosses to be able to mix and match. I used both Right Image (a midtone light pink), and Paper Lantern (a frosted soft pink) towards the middle of my lips. It created a great look that complimented my dramatic, smoky eyes. If you’re wanting more of a neutral pink, Just Superb also looks great with Paper Lantern. If you’re looking for a longwear gloss with the same cool, light pink look, I love MAC’s Next Fad. (Confession: By the end of the night who knows what glosses I ended up mixing from the bunch I threw in my clutch, thanks to all of the ”celebratory” cocktails.) And typically I love using these on top of MAC’s Peach Blossom lipstick which is the perfect pink/peach/nude.

Congrats again to Mr & Mrs Isrow!

P.S. You have just shy of two weeks to order your AEsthetica Cosmetics Contour Kit for 50% off with the promo LIVELOVELIPSTICK, don’t forget!!

LLL Promo: AEsthetica Contour Kit

Back in October I wrote about AEsthetica Contour Kits and how amazing they are to achieve the art of contouring. Well since then, contouring has become even more popular thanks to celebs like the Kardashians and Britney Spears’s insane Women’s Health magazine cover. Say what you want about Brit Brit, but she looked incredible on the cover! So much so that it had people speculating if she had a nose job or other plastic surgery. Turns out it was just some good contouring!

britney-cover

Also since my blog post (which fully describes the kit and contouring in general), I’ve had many readers and friends wishing they had ordered during the collaboration promo.  Great news, the promotion is back on! Order now through January 31st and receive 50% off your purchase with the promo code LIVELOVELIPSTICK.
